Hello my name is Raven and my favourite colour is green. I have a cat and a dog and I love them. My friends' names are Piers, Logan, Harsh, Jackson, Campbell, Fergus and Alex. I am ten years old.
I am into all ball sports especially soccer. My goal for this year is for my soccer team to win the league for the third year running.

HOBO STOVES
Monday afternoon last week Room 3 went outside and made pikelets at school on Hobo stoves because we’re studying the olden times . I liked it because we didn’t have to do work.
First of all Mr T got us the ingredients. We had to make our own butter out of cream. Then we put all the other ingredients in and mixed it up. It was quite tiring but fun.
After that we went and got sticks and twigs in our table groups and put them in a container. We got in groups of three and made fires with fire starters, sticks and paper
Finally we made our pikelets. Our group of three got two pikelets each, so we made six altogether. We put golden syrup on them to make them taste better. Some people put butter on as well.

FANTAILS
Fantails are curious birds and eat insects while flying in the air. They also eat insects that have been scuffed up by trampers that are walking.
Fantails are an indicator species that indicate how healthy the forests are. They are amazing birds, how they manoeuvre around in the air changing angles very quickly.
Fantails live in the bush and the lowlands. They only live for a short time at a maximum of three years. The maori name for the fantail is the piwakawaka.
BOOK WEEK
During the week we had people come in to our class and read to us and we had drop everything and read every day at 12:15 for 10 minutes.
On Friday we dressed up and had a parade down some of Pah street some of High street and past the kindergarten.

TREASURE ISLAND
This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn. Jim Hawkins (played by Quin) works there. Billy Bones (played by Shanti) comes to stay. He has a map. He was once a pirate, a member of Captain Flinty's crew. He is visited by Black Dog (played by Stevie) who fights him. Then the evil Blind Pew(played by Sasha) comes and scares him to death.
Jim gets the map. He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (played by Charlie) Squire Trelawney (played by Sarah), Mr Dance(played by Shannen) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola. The captain is Captain Smollet (played by Makayla) who gets Long John Silver (played by Madison) to collect a crew. Long John Silver is evil and one of Captain Flinty's pirates. He collects all the other pirates and away they sail.
On the trip Jim hears of a plot to steal the map. When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade. The baddies go in search of the treasure. An old pirate called Ben Gunn (played by Zion) who has been marooned, arrives and joins the gang.
Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island. The pirates have nowhere to go. There's a big fight. The pirates are winning
until they hear Ben Gunn whom they think is a ghost of Captain Flinty. Ben Gunn screams horribly...They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and ship back to England.
My favourite part was when the goodies get the treasure.
My favourite character was Ben Gunn because she's my sister.

VOLCANOES
ROCK DA HOUSE
Rock Da House is a performance where a lot of schools sing songs over 3-4 nights. The organisers are Paulette and John who are very good singers. There were alot of soloists, but only three from our school, Quin, Jason and Makayla. My favourite songs were We Will Rock You and Hey Soul Sister. I didn't do the show but I enjoyed the practices.
DENTAL HEALTH
You should brush your teeth twice a day for 2-3 minutes. You should brush your teeth straight after you have eaten. There are three different types of teeth molars, canines and incisors. Incisors are used for cutting. Molars are used grinding. Canines are used for tearing and ripping. On Monday we had a long lunch with a very long table to show healthy food.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT
We made the signs so that we could warn people about being careful and thoughtful of the godwits and the eggs.
My part in making the signs was coming up with ideas to put on the signs and helping to paint the signs.
We went to the Kumaras on the 17th of September to see our signs and learn more about the godwits.

Some of Da Vinci's inventions include flying machines, an armoured car, artillirey park, boat designs, a machine gun, parachutes and a giant crossbow. Some of Da Vinci's paintings include Madonna Lita, Virgin Of The Rocks, Portrait Of A Musician, Lady With An Ermine and probably the most famous Mona Lisa. Leonardo Da Vinci is considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time. Da Vinci is perhaps the most talented person ever to have lived. It took him ten years to finish Mona Lisa's lips. Da Vinci was born on the 15th of April and died on May the 2nd, 1519.

On Monday the 29th of October the opening of Aniwaniwa took place. The reason why this name was chosen was because of all the different cultures in our school. The opening started of with Whaea Tania doing the Karanga. Then the doors opened and Mr Major made a speech. We then went through the building and blessed it. Several minutes later Hinekura and Selena unveiled the tuku tuku pattern. Next Whaea Tania told us a story about the rainbow colours fighting over who was the most important colour. Finally we got rainbow chocolates and cookies and went back to class. My favourite part was at the end when we got food.
