TURANGAWAEWAE FESTIVAL
1 Why do we have the Turangawaewae Festival? It is to get the cultures together and for fun. 2 What I enjoyed about the Festival. I loved the Sundaes.

On Thusday 6th of March room 3 made pikelets. First of all we got milk and shook it up until it was butter and after that we went outside to make the butter square. Finally we got the hobo stoves outside and going and I felt excited and good. It was awesome

Fantails live for around three years and then die . Fantail live in lowland and in the bush. Their Maori name is Piwakawaka Fantails eat insects while flying in the air Fantail are an indicator species . If you have a Fantail you its becacse you are sceffing up the dirt so the Fantail can eat the bugs. if theres fantails in the bush it means the bush is healthy
NEW ZEALAND FALCON
the maori name for the new Zeland Falcon is Karearea The Falcon is the fastest bird in NZ the Falcon is haif the size of the hawk Falcons catch their prey while fling . The Falcon is the only NZ bird of prey . The Falcon protects its hunting area its saif.
BOOK WEEK
We have book week to get kids in to books.
On parade day we walked through high street.
We thank Becky for organising book week.
TREASURE ISLAND
This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn. Jim Hawkins (played by Quin) works there. Billy bones (played by Shanti ) comes to stay. He has a map. He was once a pirate, a member of Captain Flint's crew. He is visited by Black Dog (Stevie )who fights him. Then the evil Blind Pew (Sasha ) comes and scares him to death.
Jim gets the map . He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (Charley) Squire Trelawney ( Sarah), Mr Dance ( Shannen) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola. The captain is Captain Smollett (Makayla ) who gets Long John Silver (Madison ) to collect a crew. He is evil and one of Captain Flint's pirates. He collects all the other pirates and away they sail. On the trip Jim hears of a plot to kill them.
When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade . The baddies go in search of the treasure . An old pirate called Ben Gunn ( Zion) who has been marooned , arrives and joins the goodies . Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island. The pirates have nowhere to go. There's a big fight. The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn whom they think is a ghost of Captain Flint. Ben screams horribly..
They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and sail back to England
My favourite part in the show was on the island.
My favourite character was Billy Bones.

I thought the whole show was awesome.

VOLCANOES
At the centre of the earth is a sold metal core which is surrounded by an outer core of liqund metal. Aound this is aluyer of hot rock called the mantle. The surface is broken up into large pieces.
THE OLYMPICS 2012
The Olympics were held in London.
The participants were the countries.
Some of the activities I watched and enjoyed were running,football and swimming.
New Zealand had a very succeful games. We won 6 golds 2 silver and 5 bronze medals.
ROCK THE HOUSE
The name of the show is ROCK THE HOUSE. The leaders are John and Paulette. The band's name is the Peasants. The special item was Quin and Riwaka playing the ukulele and the soloists was Makayla and Jason. The song I enjoyed was Bad Hair Day. Im feeling nervous for tonight.
THOUGHTS AFTER THE SHOW
I felt great after the show. It all went well. The soloists performing from Parklands were Makayla and Jason they were awesome. I reckoned the audience loved it. I felt awesome and that I'd done something really good.
What I learned a about teeth. How to care for teeth. Brush your teeth every day and night. You need to eat good food and fruit.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT.
We made the signs because Room 3 wants to help the birds.
My part of making the signs was the writing. It said NO MOTORBIKES ON THE BEACH.
We went to the Kumaras because Sally wanted to show us the signs.

On Monday 29th October Aniwaniwa the milti purpose room was opened. Then we had the Karanga about Aniwaniwa. Reverend Gladys blessed Aniwaniwa and Parklands followed behind her. Whaea Tania told as a rainbow story. We took the bolakit of the tukutuku pattin. It was a rainbow it was graet fun then we got lollies.
