Hello! I'm Jack. I'm going to tell you a little bit about myself. My favourite colour is green. My favourite sport is tennis. My goal for this year is to get all my work done in the time I'm given.

TURANGAWAEWAE FESTIVAL

Why do we have a Turangawaewae festival? To celebrate the culture at our school.

What I enjoyed most about the festival was the entertainment.

HOBO STOVES

Yesterday room 3 made pikelets outside MoTEC.

First of all we made the pikelet mix and the butter. Then we shaped the butter.

After that we collected the sticks for the fire.

Finally we started making our pikelets. I lit the fire all by myself. When we were up to Raven's pikelet the hobo stove caught fire and I burnt my self.

I felt sore because I burnt my self.

FLIPPER FANTAIL

Fantails are native to the bush. They only live up to three years old. The fantail eats insects, people scuff the insects up. It flits around with its wings and tail. Its name is piwakawaka. They are an awesome species.

MOREPORK

Ruru is a small dark brown mottled native owl with large owl eye. It is nacturnal eating a variety of insects and small animals such as rats and mice and smaaler birds. ruru is mainly found in forested areas from sea levels to the high country. Ruru has a variety of calls but derives its common name from its quiet one

BOOK WEEK.

We have book week because we want to encourage kids into reading and enjoying books.

During the week we have been having people coming in and reading to us.

On Friday we dressed up and walked down town on High Street.

TREASURE ISLAND

This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn. Jim Hawkins (played by Quin) works there. Billy bones (played by Shanti ) comes to stay. He has a map. He was once a pirate, a member of Captain Flint's crew. He is visited by Black Dog (Stevie )who fights him. Then the evil Blind Pew (Sasha ) comes and scares him to death.

Jim gets the map . He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (Charley) Squire Trelawney ( Sarah), Mr Dance ( Shannen) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola. The captain is Captain Smollett (Makayla ) who gets Long John Silver (Madison ) to collect a crew. He is evil and one of Captain Flint's pirates. He collects all the other pirates and away they sail. On the trip Jim hears of a plot to kill them.

When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade . The baddies go in search of the treasure . An old pirate called Ben Gunn ( Zion) who has been marooned , arrives and joins the goodies . Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island. The pirates have nowhere to go. There's a big fight. The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn whom they think is a ghost of Captain Flint. Ben screams horribly..

They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and sail back to England

My favourite part was the bar man getting whacked on the head because it was a crack up! My favourite character was Blind Pew because I liked his singing. My part in the show was the singing. I thought the whole show was awesome. We should congratulate Smiddy the producer

When the two plates push together they sometimes forms cracks,and the magma flows through them.

THE 2012 OLYMPICS

The Olympics were held in London

The participants were Athletes all over the world

Some of the activities I watched and enjoyed was weight lifting

New Zealand had a very successful games. We won 6 golds. 2 silvers and 5 bronze medals.

ROCK DA HOUSE

The leaders were John and Paulette and Quin. The name of the band was The Peasants. The soloists were Makayla, Jason and Quin plus the ukelele group. I enjoyed Falling Slowly and Mati Mahi Ka Ora. I felt scared before the show. THOUGHTS AFTER THE SHOW

I thought the show was awesome. The show was really cool. The soloists went fantastically. The audience thought the show was wicked. I felt proud after the evening.
